Sumida River Firework Festival = EDGY Firework Festival

Umbrella x Firework?

What is so edgy about Japanese firework festival, especially Tokyo Sumida River Firework Festival?

One is the size (attendance: almost 1 million people) and two, number of fireworks launched (Over 20,000 fireworks in 2 hours). The third, and the most edgy point -- it's the proximity from the launch point.

If you watch the work from Asakusa, bits and pieces from the blasting firework, also known as an outer shell of the firework, fall like rain because of its proximity to the launching point.

Thus -- the headline picture -- an umbrella surely helps to avoid the pieces, falling over your body, or even a cup, containing your beer.
